Phone is duplicating contacts

[AC Question]

I saw this identical post back in September. The solution was to remove WAZE application. I don't have that. I have more than twenty duplicates for each contact. There are over 40,000 contacts now and my Yahoo email moves at a snails pace when I'm opening an email (not sure if its related). Any thoughts on how I remove the extra contacts?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have LinkedIn? There was a recent thread about that. If you have LinkedIn, try uninstalling it, then reinstalling it.
