HTC / Google Voice headphone issue

[AC Question]

Everytime... and I mean every damn time, I plug in my headphones (multiple pairs) or my aux chord for my car into an HTC device (used to have an EVO and now have a Desire 626) - it will automatically detect them as headphones with a mic and Google voice will pop up and try listening for something. I just want to listen to my damn music - how do I fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Open Google Now, swipe in from the left, tap Settings>Voice, ​and make sure Bluetooth Headset is turned off. Does that make a difference?
