Phone calls not connecting or drop out after a few seconds

[AC Question]

I'm running 5.1 and having difficulties using my phone. When I try to take calls I either can't hear the caller or if I do hear them it's only for a few seconds.

All very difficult as I'm in the process of looking for a new job and need to take calls!

Any advice out there, PLEASE?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Does it work normally in speakerphone mode, or with wired or Bluetooth headsets?
