CompassX not working on Moto 360 (2015)

I recently sold my Moto 360 (2014) and had the app CompassX and it worked perfectly and now that I have the new Moto 360 (2015) the app does not work. Did Motorolla disable something on watch...loved the compass.
Anyone have a clue why?
