Need help in choosing an English/American phone which will work in China

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note edge. I've had it unlocked so I can install a purchased sim card in Guilin China. Does anyone know if it will work? Should I purchase a different phone? What carrier should I choose over there?

Hi, if your device is unlocked I would imagine it would work. I've been to India a couple of times for work and at the time I had a Nexus 5 - unlocked and it was fine.
