Am unable to transfer photos from HTC to Mac, as HTC is being shown as HTC sync Manager and the download link not freely valuable for HTC Sync Manager in Mac

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect via USB, do you see a USB connection notification in the status bar? If so, swipe down, tap it, and make sure MTP is selected.

Don't select the HTC Sync Manager entry that appears on your Mac--that's probably just the part of your internal storage that's been specially partitioned as a CD drive, which contains installation software for the Sync Manager. Try using Android File Transfer instead.
