my screen is locked and i forgot my password

i saved my old galaxy s3 because it has texts that i need to access. when i turned it on it wants a password and i dont remember it. it says ive used 7 of 10 attempts and if i fail 3 more times it will reset my phone and i desperately need those texts

Hi, if you take the phone to your carrier, they should be able to assist in unlocking the phone.
