Why does my Galaxy Tab 4 stop recognizing speakers?

When I'm playing music on my tablet I use my computer speakers. A good portion of the time if I pause or mute the music on my tablet when I start it again it only plays though the built in speakers and it stops playing through the comp speakers. It still won't recognize the outside speakers if I unplug and plug them back in. The only fix I've found is restarting it and plugging in the speakers before I start playing music again. Anyone know why its doing this?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you connecting to the speakers via an Aux cable, or do the speakers have their own plug?
