Lost my default notification ringtone after Android 6.0 upgrade

Lost my default notification ringtone after Android 6.0 upgrade. Now notifications come for mails/whatsapp/hangout and other stuff but i don't hear any sound.
In settings default notification ringtone is set to "None" .

Can somebody tell me the path to set it to default? As it comes with the factory setting.?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? If you go to Settings>Sound & Notifications>Default Notification Ringtone​, are you able to select anything else?

I am using Nexus 5. Yes I am able to browse to other ringtones from " Settings>Sound & Notifications>Default Notification Ringtone"

So can you select a ringtone and make it stick? When you select a ringtone, does it play a sample for you?

Yes when I select any other tone it rings. But I am looking for the default one.

By default, you mean whichever one it's set to right out of the box? You'd have to select each tone until you find the one that matches what you're looking for. In other words, the default tone should be in that list of tones.
