How to root Acer a1-840

Have tried to root with root genuis with no luck even tho you tube says it will

How you root depends on 2 things - the model and the version of Android.

If it's still running 4.4.2, check the kernel date (Settings/Gneral/About Device/Kernel). If it's June 2, 2014 or earlier, use Towel Root. Just install the app, run it, tap the "Make it rain" button and the tablet will be rooted.

If it's running a later version of Android (or 4.4.2 with a later kernel), look on the Acer A1 forums at XDA for a rooting method for that version.
