    I have a security warning saying battery virus detected on my device, I had a look to download an app to remove the virus as requested and the app sais it need to access Device and app history, identity, photos, and so on
    Is this real?

    No, it is malware. Report it to Google:

    Then remove the app from your phone, and whatever you may have downloaded that caused it to pop up in the first place. Also if necessary clear your browser cache and data and be careful of the sites you open when browsing.
