Nexus 5 lock screen temporarily unresponsive

A

AC Question

I was playing music as normal, pressed the power button to turn on the screen and found that the lock screen was completely unresponsive to any touch input. The phone was still working fine - receiving and displaying notifications, playing music, etc - but there was no way for me to interact with it. I rebooted several times (the "Power Off" button did respond to touch) but it made no difference. About an hour later, I was able to drag the options menu down from the top of the screen, but the menu would then get stuck and couldn't be closed again. Functionality returned with no obvious prompting (i.e. I had just left it alone entirely) some two hours later and it's now working like normal.
This is the third time this has occurred, and each time the phone is unresponsive for longer periods. As the phone is now working normally, I'm not sure how to fix the problem (or test if it has been fixed, besides waiting for it to not work again). Any help would be appreciated.
