What is misc on my phone

[AC Question]

My phone updated with out my constant. Then when I look on my storage it says it's full and what's taking most space is misc. I tried deleting stuff before but it ended up deleting my music. So now I'm afraid of deleting things and before the update I didn't have this problem. So why is my phone acting this way and why when I try to delete things it deletes things I want?
