The settings screen goes white after clicking on the setting app on galaxy S5

Hi. I am looking for some help please.
I have a Samsung galaxy S5, which is working fine i.e. I can access the internet, make and receive phone calls etc but when I go into the settings app to get to the phone settings i.e. the screens showing the connection, my device, accounts and more comes up white and will not display anything.
If I pull down the home screen from the to all the small icons are shown along the top but I can not access any of the main phine settings. Is there a fix for this or will I have to factory reset the phone?
I am a bit of a technophobe so please make any instructions as '*****' proof as possible. Thankyou

Try a wipe of the cache partition. It doesn't delete any data, and might fix the problem. Follow the instructions at this link: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10683
