Replaced screen on Nexus 5 but remains black

Hi there,

I've replaced a cracked screen on my nexus 5 with a lcd digitiser screen and frame kit. The phone turns on but the screen remains blank. Backlight works.
I swapped the old screen back and that screen works fine.
Is this due to a faulty new screen? are there any steps I can take to rectify this?

I would make sure the ribbon is locked in good. Other than that it could be you got a bad replacement screen.
