My Galaxy S4 screen started flickering and now the screen doesn't work at all

I was playing Clash of Clans and the screen started flickering. I thought nothing of it at first but it kept getting worse and worse and eventually the screen won't work at all. I've tried charging the battery, restarting the phone but nothing works. The screen that comes up when you start the phone up which has the name and model of the phone doesn't even show up but the phone vibrates and the lights all work.

Have you already tried replacing the battery for a new one?

I've had a lot of problems with the S4 batteries due to them exploding , the one I have at the minute has lasted the longest and still works fine. I don't think it is the battery because I know the phone is on but I can't see anything
