My 4.4.2 android is lagging

I have a prepaid 4.4.2 android lg phone, the last couple of weeks, it has really been slow with everything. It drops calls on me even when i have plenty of bars.it freezes up constantly and i am always haveing to take my battery out and restart it. I tried to do a factory reset, but it doesnt give me the option.it says factory reset is disabled by server policy.any suggestions would really be appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! It gives you that message when you go to Settings>Backup & Reset>Factory Data Reset? Is it disabled by server policy or security policy?

Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.
