why does my messages app on galaxy note 5 only act up when I try to text one person

When I got to text a certain person it takes forever for their thread of messages to load. Once there messages appear on the screen then I have to click the text bar at the bottom on the screen and wait for the keyboard to appear. After the key board appears then in have to wait for the insertion point to start blinking before I type or there will be a lag that takes forever to see what you are typing. This whole process take almost 5 minutes just to send a simple text. It's only like this for this one person.

Welcome to Android Central! Does that thread have thousands of messages in it? If so, it may just be laggy because it has to load up so much data.
