how do I upload my android phone pics to my laptop?

In trying to upload my Motorola Device Manager from my laptop to my phone, it says an internet connection cannot be established. I assume I need this to happen to take the pics from my android phone and upload them to my P.C. What am I missing?

U can always plug it into the computer via the cable and transfer it that way
