    Hello all,

Recently, I spilled some water on my S4 at the back area where the external speakers are located/exposed. Now my speakers are making this static noise, as well as getting extremely HOT if you touch the speaker's area. I have also noticed that my battery is getting drained insanely fast. I'm just wondering whether my phone will still work if the speakers are removed, I do not have the tools/screw driver to remove it myself but I have a friend that will do it for me, although he lives far. I just want to ask this question before making a trip to my friend's house tomorrow, and I do apologize if this is a stupid question.

    Welcome.

It certainly isn't a stupid question but I suspect that answering it would require more knowledge of phone circuitry than most of us have. If you don't get a response here, and have the time, a friendly repairer may advise, if you happen to be near one.
