Why won't google play store open on my smart tv?

I purchased a new Phillips smart TV today and once I'd set it up I started to explore the different apps. I opened the play store, signed in and then agreed to the T/C's at which point the app crashed. Now every time it is selected it opens for a second and then closes again. Please can anyone help fix this issue? Many thanks

I'm not too up to date on Smart TVs but do you have the option of disabling the Play Store app?
