Fingerprint scanner issue

Help! I used up my fingerprint scans and it's asking for my device password. I did not write down the password and I have taken the battery out. No luck. Any clues?

Welcome to the forums. What device do you have? Have you tried using Android Device Manager to get you back into the phone?
