    I have a Nexus 7 google tablet, bought as a gift in 2013, 16gb non-expandable memory, running Android 6.0

Two things. 1) I keep being told that I have a virus on my tablet from "adult content" sites--don't visit those sites like EVER... I read here, an older post 01 Sep 2013 in a thread where a person asked about antivirus for a new device and "jd914" responded that these tablets don't get viruses, that there would be no viruses on this tablet. Is that for real true?!

    2) I got a "damaged battery" message after the battery got drained too low the other day. Is that a real problem? Or am I just being hosed into thinking there are real problems on this tablet?

Both "messages" popped up in a chrome browser window.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

    Welcome to Android Central.

You don't have a virus but it seems you downloaded something that had adware attached to it which is causing your issues.

Do you remember the latest things you downloaded or installed on your device is?

You can try uninstalling those apps and wiping system cache via recovery. Not likely to work but may.

Your best bet is backing up any important info and doing a factory reset. Make sure not to restore saved data when setting up the device. Doing so could restore the problem you are trying to fix.

When reinstalling apps, do so few at a time so if it happens again, you will be more aware of what app is causing it.

I've tried several majesty suggested battery apps. No good. It all started with 23 viruses it said I had. Like its toying with me. Reformatted twice. Added no SD card or apps. Just used phone. And now this 6 virus battery damage comes up. I'm fixen to try reformat again. To clean and remove these apps. Like it wants me to add apps. Wasn't watching any porn. This virus is something new y'all.
