How to play two different apps with audio output at the same time?

A

AC Question

Specifically, I am trying to listen to Songza or Spotify while watching a video with VLC at the same time. When one starts playing audio, the other pauses so I cannot use both at the same time.

I tried Rocket Player because of its "Audio focus" option, but it will not play my specific video file format.... or any video for that matter without crashing (plays about 3 seconds of video and crashes, but it does overlap audio).

Does anyone know of a different free video player that has "audio focus", or if there is a way to bypass audio focus on any of the apps I mentioned [Songza, Spotify, VLC]?

I was also thinking that XPrivacy would allow me to change the permissions of Songza or VLC to allow them to play overtop of each other, but I do not know what to restrict..

I have a Galaxy S4 running Cyanogenmod 11

Thanks for any assistance!

No. I just found a way to work around it.
Most other apps can have dual audio output with VLC, just not Spotify or Songza, so perhaps there is a way to change audio focus from those apps.
