I dropped my phone and the screen broke, thus causing it to be dead. However, the phone seems to still work, I try to back it up on my computer but it says that the phone has to be unlocked first. How can I do this? Thank you.

I dont have an HDMI to VGA cable yet. People say I have to plug in the different parts at the right order but I've been messing around and haven't had any luck. Is this a power issue?

You don't need that cable. Have a read of this A quick guide to accessing a locked phone with a cracked screen
