I have a Xiaomi MI4, it has an app on it called WeQR...anyone know what its for?

I am in Australia. I know that there is talk that its malware? I am a little frightened to remove it - in case it effects the operation of the phone.

I would love some light to be shed on this as there is absolutely nothing online about it.
