If you get your charger wet and then plug it into your phone will it never charge again?

I believe my 9 month old MAY have put my charger in his mouth. Then without realizing it, I connected the charger to the outlet and my phone to charge my phone. It flickered on to charge for a second then stopped charging. I switched outlets and it did the same thing. I switched to an older charger than it questionable if it even works and it wont charge at all. However I have NEVER had a problem with my charger and it is the only charger I use. I pulled everything apart and realized it was damp not completely wet, figured it was one of my kids. Took my hair drier to both parts. It still didnt charge when i connected it. What should I do?

Get a new charger.

Do you have a PC or game system with usb port to try to charge your phone without the one in question?
