    I have a verizon s5 brand new and I am experiencing battery drain and overheating problems. at school i'll have the brightness close to the lowest with battery saver on yet its overheating and dropping like crazy the picture i provided i just had 10 minutes of on screen time with almost lowest brightness and battery saver and dropped that quick

    Seems to be your service. (I see the No Sim Card symbol in the Status Bar) You have 0 Bars. Maybe you should put it in Airplane Mode, cause WiFi will still work that way. If you keep it of Airplane Mode without a Sim Card, it can and will kill your phone battery rapidly, which could explain the overheating. But a rogue app can also be the cause of your battery drain and overheating. Also do you have a specific display setting like say 25%, 50%, etc.

    no i use the display usally around this level and also i dont have the phone activated i bought it to use it with straight talk

    Yes, very low signal or no signal will drain a battery pretty quick. Is wifi available at your school? If so, use it, and turn off mobile data.
