I clicked on a link in a search engine, and got a popup saying my battery would explode if I didn't click on a link. Of course, I didn't click on the link, but immediately backed out of the browser and shut down the phone. When I rebooted and opened the browser, it did not open to my homepage, but to an unrecognizable URL. Immediately, I got what appeared to be Samsung popups saying that a virus had been detected and it appeared to start loading something. I immediately closed out again and again rebooted, but the same thing happened. I ran a Lookout scan and nothing was detected, but the problem happened again.

Is what I'm seeing legitimately a Samsung app trying to kill the virus? I didn't stick around long enough to read anything, so I can't give specifics about anything.

I think you need to perform a Hard Reset, that may solve your problem.
