Android Auto: Has anyone tried it with Honda Civic 2016?

I tried using Android Auto to connect with Honda Civic 2016. Honda says that you should be able to use Android Auto with Honda Civic 2016 but I am unable to connect. I had the Bluetooth ON and the charging point connected via the normal USB connector.

Do I need a different connector for this to work?
Or does this work only with specific phone models?

Has anyone successfully done this yet?

I would check with a civic forum, there are probably more owners there.
