I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime and started installing a few apps, but pretty soon the internal storage space was depleted.

In the Storage manager under settings it says applications take up 2.9 gb, but in the list of applications the combined space only seem to add up to around 1 gb. Why?

Also, the phone says it comes with 8 gb storage. Now, I understand some of that storage is taken up by the phone's system, but according to the storage manager that shouldn't be more than 3 gb. This means I should have around 5 gb free storage without anything installed, but I only seem to have around 2 gb. Is this just the way it is, or is something wrong?

    Welcome.
Unfortunately, that is the way it usually is.
Does your device have the option to add an SD card?
