Yesterday, I received a Samsung Galaxy S6. I followed all of the initial instructions, and went on my merry way. When I noticed the battery getting low (About 15-16%), I went to go plug it in to charge, but I couldn't find my charger (I share my room with two of my siblings, and we all had are presents mixed up in there), so my mom took it and said she'd plug it into a free charger (A generic one that no one uses). I went to go check on it a few minutes later and it had dropped to three percent, so I immediately unplugged it and searched again for my charger. I found it and plugged it in, but it kept going between charging it and not charging it until it stopped completely and my phone died. So now my charger won't work and my phone is stuck with no battery life.
Did the generic charger break my phone? How do I fix it?

You should take this back to your carrier for a replacement.

I don't think a generic USB 5 volt charger would break your phone. More likely, the generic charger is too weak and only pushing out 1 amps instead of 1.5 or 2 amps. You should try charging with the original charger that came with your S6, and let it charge for half a day.
