Android Lollipop 5.0 Messaging

I just recently got an Android phone, a Galaxy s6 Active, which runs Lollipop 5.1 and later. When I recieved a text while on an app (other than the message app) and I pressed reply and the keyboard pulled up, I noticed emoticons (emojis) were not able to be used. When on the messages app, althought, I am able to use emojis. But when replying from another app, I am not. Is there a setting of some sort to enable it?

Hi, when you are on a different app and the message comes in, when you click reply you are replying through the quick reply feature - which doesn't support emojis. When you actually open up the messaging app to reply, this is where you can get the emojis.
