replace phone through jump with tmobile

[AC Question]

I'm trying to replace my phone through the jump program with tmobile and I took my phone in and they said I have water damage and won't take the phone. I've never dropped my phone in water (that I can remember) but the strip on the battery is red indicating water damage. If I were to buy a new battery would it pass as no water damage? Mind you the phone works fine. I've never had any issues and wad shocked to hear that there is water damage. What to do??

Hi, the water damage is with the phone, not the battery so sadly replacing the battery isn't an option.
