How to place your phone down?

When you place your phone down should you place it down on the front side or the rear side ... Like if you were going to sleep how should you place your phone down ? On the front side or the back side of the phone

I don't think there is a correct of placing down your phone. But in android marshmallow you should put it down on the screen to turn off the sensors, this will put your phone into doze and hibernate your apps.

No need for face down to enter Doze, unless it goes to Doze right away when it's face down.

If you have a case, face up or down doesn't really matter. If you don't have a case, face up so you don't risk scratching the screen.

Thank you sir for correcting me thought doze automatically activates if the sensors turn off, just found out otherwise.

Another interesting fact: It takes an hour for the device to fully enter the Doze state. At least, I believe that's a fact.
