    Hi

I've been trying to get a sensible answer from Google, but there are confusing responses. I want to play video or music files on my Android device (Nexus 10), using say VLC player app and show / listen to them on my Smart TV wirelessly.

I've read some items on creating a DLNA server and other things, but the reports are conflicting and so far unsuccessful. So, without hardwiring or buying a dongle of some sort - is there a way I can play media on my device and have it projected to the TV (on the same wireless network).

This doesn't sound like something beyond the realms of possibility, but either my Google-fu is weak, or there is no straight answer.

    Thanks!

    Gaz

Several options. First VLC isn't gonna work, neither is MX player. You need to download Avia from the play store. This player gives you the option to cast any media to your enabled devices such as smart tvs, chromecast, roku, and etc.
