How do i turn off my samsung note 5 without the screen?

My phone screen is completely black and unresponsive. I've just received my replacement, but I want to factory reset my phone. I can't seem to just turn it off though so i can hard reset it.
I've tried holding down the power button for up to 1 minute and it does nothing.

Welcome to Android Central! If the screen is dead, it'll be hard to do a hardware button factory reset anyway. In any case, you have to press and hold Power and Vol Down for about 15-20 seconds to force a shutdown.
