Why does my tab2 constantly have pop ups which interrupts viewing movies etc.

Only use tablet for watching movies or showbox, but constantly getting pop ups! ie talking cat and apps that auto download with sexual content, I've tried factory reset, unchecking auto downloads but they still keep coming, I recently done a factory reset and without connecting to wifi apps were able to appear, please help
