Internal Storage Full glitch?

I have a Supersonic tablet that runs on the Android OS. I got a message that told me that my internal storage was running out. I got a 16GB micro SD card and transferred my pictures (most of my memory) to it. It was successful, and that data is no longer on the internal drive. When I checked my storage, it still says that I have 0.98GB of storage left and 3.35MB of available space. It also says that my apps take up 0.98GB of memory. My tablet now runs very slowly and the amount of "available memory" fluctuates between 3 and 8 MB. Do I need to reset the tablet entirely? Could I have a virus? I may be able to attach a screenshot for further reference if I can get my tablet to send it to my email.
