I've been running CM12 for a few months now on my Verizon HTC One M8, with very few problems. A couple months ago, I got a notification that I needed to upgrade SuperSU, so I did, and since then, I've had the following problems:

    1. Random reboots into recovery mode
    2. Actual, intentional reboots that I need to do causing a bootloop
    3. Once the bootloop is resolved, "android is upgrading" message as if it were a new install

Once, after #2, the phone actually acted like a brand new phone, which irritatingly lost all my data (fortunately I was backed up) and treated it like a brand new install of CM12. SuperSU is the only "major" change I've made to the phone since updating to CM12 (snapshot from 20151117).

    So, my questions:

    1. Is it possible to downgrade/roll back SuperSU to a previous version?
    2. Do I even need SuperSU? I have read conflicting things. Basically, I'm rooted, but only use root for things like Titanium Backup and the like - I don't use Tasker or do anything sophisticated. So can I uninstall SuperSU and just use CM's native superuser capabilities (which I think I read are a thing - if not, I guess I misunderstood and would love some clarification)?
