Device has been modified, software updates not available... SONY Z3

[AC Question]

Hi,

I bought a rooted sony z3 and used xperifirm to flash it. Since then OTA updates have not been working and says that it is already updated. I used sony companion to update to which it then came up with the message that the device have been modified and software updates arent available. I have looked everywhere but never do people mention the sony z3 so I confused on what to do. Would appreciate some help.

If your phone is rooted, you should not try to update via OTA.

If you want to get the OTA update, you must unroot and then accept the OTA OR flash an equivalent ROM that is similar to the OTA. I don't know anything about Z3's or Z3 ROM development so you would need to research what is out there for your phone
