Google Play Ads Pausing Netflix

[AC Question]

My son got a tablet (Zeepad) for Christmas and everything was working just fine with it until about five days ago. Nothing new had been downloaded as far as I know but all of a sudden whenever he starts to watch Netflix it will pause every two minutes - nearly to the dot - and pop up with a Google Play ad. I'm trying to figure out if this is a virus I need to get rid of that is showing up like the Play Store or if it's the real deal and how to get it to stop popping up or what.

I would try to do a factory data reset and don't install any apps other than Netflix to see if you still have the same problem.

I have Netflix on my Note and I've never had any Google Play ads or aby ads.
