Cell Standby battery drain

A

AC Question

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and just recently my battery life has decreased to about six hours even if I do not use the phone. When I checked the Battery tab under Settings, Cell standby has consumed 68% of my battery life since the last full recharge. I have moved to a location with limited to no cell service, so I realize that this is likely the problem. I'm going to be here for three more months and I don't want this issue to keep draining my phone's battery everyday. Any suggestions?

Hi, welcome to the forums! A weak or nonexistent cell signal is going to drain your battery pretty quickly. The only way to stop this is switching airplane mode on when you're in an area with no signal and switch WiFi on if there's any network available. I know this is not a perfect solution and you'll miss calls and texts when cell signal is available, but there's not much else you can do. You could try switching airplane mode on & off from time to time to check any missed calls.
