How do I back up my LG G3 to an iMac computer?

I have an LG G3 and I want to back up the contents in case I lose the phone. I have an iMac computer

See Backing up an Android Device. (Unless you're rooted, you won't be able to use Helium without a Windows PC, as far as I know.)

When everything is backed up to the Mac, copy the whole backup to a cloud account. If the phone, Mac and cloud server all go bad at the same time, we'll probably all be breathing vacuum.
