My RCA viking pro no longer recognises any USB device or its own keyboard

I turned my tablet on and now it refuses to work with any USB device and even its included detachable keyboard. There are no drivers available and nothing about this issue in the manul or anywhere online.

Welcome to Android Central! Does that persist after a reboot? Is the microUSB port completely clean, and the pins intact?

Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

I had the same problem. All you need to do is jump over to the guest account and then back to your main account, problem solved. All USB will be functional again, including the keyboard. However, if you shut down, or restart the tablet, you will have to do this again to restore USB functionality.
