New Nexus 7 LCD is freaking out.

I just bought a new screen replacement for my nexus 7 (2012). When I installed it, I turned on the tablet and the Google screen appeared, all the black was yellow. I picked it up, and the screen started freaking out. It displayed the Google logo all over the screen, all the colors started changing, and Black lines kept running from the left to the right of the screen. I'm hoping this is just an issue with the way i installed it and not a defective LCD. Any help is greatly appreciated.
