The weather app on my Samsung gear 2 neo won't connect to the phone.

The weather app won't connect at all. Keeps giving me the message that I need to turn on "Use current location on mobile device." When I go to that screen on the phone, it is already turned on. I downloaded an update to the Gear software yesterday, and as it installed, it said that the weather app disconnected. I occasionally get a notification from Accuweather, but the weather app is dead. Samsung support never heard of the problem. I spent an hour with a tech one afternoon.

PS: my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S6. I'm thinking either software incompatibility or wrong setting. Can't figure this one out.
