Camera bug on Nexus 6

[AC Question]

I don't know how to post a.photo, but basically I go to my camera app on my nexus 6p and all I get is red and green and yellow lines like a CRT TV. There's no visibility regarding what I'm taking a picture of. I've babied this phone - no water damage, no drops, no rough housing. It is hardware because I tried it in camera fv-5 and the camcorder version of that app.
Does anyone know a fix? I've restarted the phone twice but am hesitant to factory reset if its hardware related.
Can't take pics in fb or Kik or texting either. Seriously think it's hardware.

Welcome to Android Central! Sounds like a hardware defect. Does the front-facing camera work?
