I suddenly have a floating icon on my home screen - it dims the screen and makes things freeze

It is in a faded blue circle that I can move around - from my locked home screen, and then it's on top of every screen when my phone is unlocked. It looks like it has a phone inside with 2 half circles on top of it. If you touch it, it dims the screen and then makes all of my icons not work, or not work quickly. It suddenly appeared today, and the only way to make it go away is to take the battery out and restart it if it's completely frozen. When I restart, it won't come back right away, but after a few minutes it appears again. Any idea what this is and how to get rid of it?

Hi, welcome to the forums! There are several reports about this same issue. It seems related to an app called Peel smart remote. If you have it in your phone disable it and see if the problem persists.
