My Samsung Galaxy s5 has a static screen after I accidentally dropped it in water and the battery cover popped off. I immediately took the battery out and placed the phone in rice for a week. When I turn it back on its just static although I can hear the AT&T noise when it turns on and as I swipe my finger across the screen I can feel it respond and I can change the volume profile as well but when I do that the static pattern changes in the place the display where it would show the volume would be but then goes back. Any ideas on how to fix this or what part I need or if a wire or ribbon is loose?

That's the best way to destroy a phone. Read Oh, no! My Phone got Wet!. (Whoever came up with the rice idea should be sentenced to life in a bag of rice.)I'd guess (I can't do more without opening the phone) that the motherboard is shot and the inside of the frame is corroded. It would cost more to fix then to replace.
